Mimi Privacy Policy
Updated on
Last updated: July 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Mimi, a product of Moneytise (“Mimi”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Mimi mobile app and related services (the “Service”). We built Mimi to be a calm, private corner of your day, and we treat your reflections with care.
By using Mimi, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to create your personal audio and run the app.
- Your reflections, journal entries, and generated audio are tied to your account and are not sold or shared for advertising.
- To create audio, the words you give Mimi are sent to our AI provider (Google) to generate a script and to synthesize speech.
- You can export or permanently delete your data at any time from Profile → Privacy & data.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Onboarding answers: a first name (or nickname), an optional age range, the focus areas and feelings you select, short free-text reflections (such as what a normal day feels like and what you’d like to change), your intention, your preferred tone, and any topics you ask Mimi to avoid.
- Content you create: journal entries (gratitude and manifestation), thoughts you “keep close”, and the settings for audio you generate (theme, length, voice, ambience).
- Account details: if you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive the name and email address you agree to share (which may be Apple’s private relay email). You can use much of Mimi without an account, via an anonymous session.
Information created by using Mimi
- Generated content: the scripts and audio Mimi produces for you, and metadata such as titles, duration, and your listening progress.
- Preferences and app state: your chosen narrator voice, default ambience, reminder settings, and daily-thought topics.
- Subscription status: whether you have an active trial or subscription (we receive this from Apple via RevenueCat; we never receive your full payment card details).
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical information necessary to operate and secure the Service (such as a device-generated identifier for your session and standard server logs).
- Product analytics events: we use PostHog to understand how Mimi is used, such as completing onboarding, viewing the paywall, starting or restoring a subscription, creating or playing audio, and saving a journal entry. Before you sign in, these events are tied to an anonymous per-install identifier; once you sign in with Apple, they are tied to your account identifier so we can understand your journey through the app. We do not record your screen and we do not capture the content of your reflections, journal entries, or generated audio as analytics events — only that the action happened.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create the personalized stories, affirmations, and sleep sessions you ask for.
- Save your library, journal, kept thoughts, and preferences, and sync them across your devices when you’re signed in.
- Provide daily thoughts and optional gentle reminders.
- Operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
- Manage subscriptions and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your reflections to serve you ads.
AI generation and third parties we work with
To provide Mimi, we share limited information with service providers who process it on our behalf:
- Google (Gemini API) — the text you provide (your intentions, scene, and preferences) is sent to Google’s generative AI to write your script and to synthesize the narration audio. This processing happens only to create your content. Please review Google’s applicable AI/API terms for how it handles data submitted to its APIs.
- Supabase — our backend provider, which stores your account, library, journal, kept thoughts, and generated audio files, protected so that only you can access your own data.
- Apple — for Sign in with Apple and for processing subscription purchases through the App Store.
- RevenueCat — helps us manage subscriptions and entitlements; it receives a user/device identifier and purchase information, not your payment card details or your reflections.
- PostHog — our product-analytics provider, which processes data on servers located in the European Union. It receives the event data described above (and the identifier tied to those events) so we can understand how Mimi is used and improve it. PostHog does not receive your reflections, journal entries, or generated audio, and we do not use it for advertising.
These providers are permitted to use your information only to provide their services to us.
Where your information is stored
Your information is stored and processed on servers operated by our providers, which may be located in the United States and other countries. By using Mimi, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data-protection rules than your own. We take steps to ensure your information remains protected in line with this Policy.
How we protect your information
Information is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS, and access to your account data is restricted so that only you (and the systems needed to serve you) can reach it. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable technical and organizational measures.
Your choices and rights
- Access & export: export a copy of your data from Profile → Privacy & data → Export your data.
- Delete: permanently delete your library, journal, and kept thoughts from Profile → Privacy & data → Delete all data, and sign out to end your session. Deleting removes the data from your device and requests deletion of the associated account data. To request deletion of analytics data PostHog holds about your account, contact us at the email below.
- Reminders: turn gentle reminders on or off at any time in Profile.
- Correction: edit your intentions, journal entries, and preferences directly in the app.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR (European Economic Area/UK) or the CCPA/CPRA (California) — including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us at the email below. We will not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Children
Mimi is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your data or account, we delete or de-identify it, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Mimi after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
